Sure ... then there's that.

Well, it has been the time-tested cliche that single turns into married turns into house turns into kids and so on and so on until death claims us all. So, it was high time Mr. and Mrs. The Buffalo, having completed steps one and two, move on to step three, marching ever closer to the Grim Reapers doorstep.

Yep, it's official. Mr. The Buffalo is now a home-owner. The lovely and serene Baton Rouge, once a somewhat sleepy (if not hung-over) college town, is now more like a New-New Orleans. But that didn't stop me from putting down roots in the old Red Stick.

Having had our closing slightly delayed (which was partly due to my delayed Bar results and job situation in general here in BR) we have now finished moving into out new two bed / two bath house in a quiet subdivision off of Burbank Drive, perhaps two stone's throws away from the LSU campus and just as many from the other side of BR (Industriplex, etc...).

However, of note is that after several gruelling days of trying desperately to get the old NOLA funk off of furniture that baked away in rotting refridgerator air in our old apt., I opted for the old road-side treatment. So ...

Futon - here we come!

That done, new bed and couch will be arriving shortly and life should resume a somewhat familiar pace. A BIG thank you to my man D at Heisman Run for helping me get set up here in BR. Also, many thanks go to several people he referred me to, the most of which go to

Matt at Saurage

and

Derek at Fairway.

Thanks to all of you, I can sit on my futon,

in my own home, and watch basic cable while drinking a nice cold beer. And for any of you known by the Buffalo who should wish to share in that experience with me in my lovely new abode, please, by all means, stop in and we can make just such arrangements.

And last, but not least ...

GRATUITOUS CAT SHOTS!!!

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. The Buffalo. Everything that has happened in new Orleans totally sucks, but that doesn't mean that we can't start over and make our lives even better than before.

Good luck to you guys. Let's all keep up the blogging and stay in touch through all of this.

I really like your house. I know you guys will love it. The joys of home ownership are plentiful and gratifying in a way that I cannot quite verbalize.
